The Abacot Ranger was originally bred in Colchester between 1917 and 1922 by Oscar Grey , it was initially popular as a good egg and meat producer but it lost popularity and eventually went extinct and was only reintroduced from Germany in 1970
They are an attractive friendly duck that lays a good number of large eggs.
